Pat McMurray, RCDD, NTS, OSP, DCDC and PMP
President
Pat has invested more than 39 years of experience creating and leading technology businesses. Prior to creating T&R Communications, he began his data and communications career in 1985 maintaining and installing cable. Pat has invested many years and much time to support his career with ongoing industry education that includes BICSI RCDD, NTS, OSP, DCDC and PMP credentials. One of his favorite areas of development is in the apprenticeship programs with NECA and IBEW JATC (Joint Apprentice and Training Committee) and area high schools to mentor young students towards career goals and future opportunities within the ICT industry.
Dennis Moebus, RCDD
Vice President
Dennis began his telecommunications career over 37 years ago with a small interconnect company near San Francisco. As an entry level technician, Dennis learned the basics of a quality communications installation. As his career developed into Director of Operations, Dennis pursued and passed the BICSI RCDD examination. He joined T&R Communications 5 years ago and is a strong leader at T&R Communications. Dennis focuses on developing our solid team and dedicated to consistently providing expertise in design/build, engineering, estimating, project management and excellent service.
Matthew Van Gerpen
Matthew has been involved in the ICT industry since 1995 after graduating with a degree in Engineering from CSU Sacramento. Over the last 26 years, Matthew has assumed the roles of installer, project manager, estimator, and design engineer. Matthew is certified as a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), a high level industry achievement he has held for the last 17 years. As an engineer for T&R Communications, he is responsible for all design build projects and general RFP construction bids. Experience, knowledge, and exacting focus are some of the keys that he provides to help T&R Communications unlock new opportunities and grow its expanding client base.
Stefano Terluin
Stefano began his successful ICT career in 1989 with Apex Communications when Cat3 was the latest and greatest. Over the last 32 years, Stafano has specialized in Project Management and excellent client care. T&R Communications relies and is supported by his strong support team for emergency and other service requests, repairs and cabling projects.
Richard Spano
Richard has spent 32 years plus experience in the security/networking/communications industry. His AS Degree was in Computer Technology and specialized certifications include: Casi-Rusco, Lenel, Software House, Westinghouse, Schlage, Pelco, Radionics, Bosch, Philips, Microsoft, Novell Networks, Honeywell and Notifier. He is an expert and technically proficient with access control, CCTV and burg systems. Richard has an in depth understanding in networking which includes Microsoft and Linux OS’s, network security, active directory, databases, SQL, database segmentation, NAS, routers, switches and hubs, wireless, mobile, firewalls, port monitoring and port forwarding, POE monitoring, calculations and computer programming languages.
Tom Swanson
Tom began career his career at Western Electric in 1979 building Central Offices for the phone company. Tom’s specialization at T&R is engineering and is always involved on our most detailed and complex projects. His expertise extends to accreditations that include SME to State of California Apprenticeship Council for Sound and Communications/ VDV Industry apprenticeship program minimum training criteria and test development.
Dave Gomes
Dave successful career spans over 32 years in sales and leadership experience. Dave’s majors are in computer science and math and his education compliments his passion for technology, sales engineering, troubleshooting, critical thinking and creative skills. He has an exceptional track record for rapidly evaluating applications through discussion and/or examining schematics, then determining custom designs to meet our customer’s performance criteria. Dave is a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
Marco Nunez
Marco has held various positions during the past 25 years in the telecommunications industry and excelled as a technician, project coordinator, project manager and regional operations manager. Marco has comprehensive knowledge in telecommunications, LAN/WAN/VOIP, fiber optics, outside plant, CCTV, CATV, access control, sound masking, paging and analog / digital circuits. Marco currently holds the following training certifications: CEL-FI QUATRA 1000 OFF AIR MODE, CEL-FI QUATRA 1000 OFF SMALL CELL, CEL-FI QUATRA 2000, SYSTIMAX, CommScope, OSP Fiber Design and Engineering, Pre Terminated Data Center Solutions, Sumitomo, FutureFLEX Design and Estimating for ABF, Hubbell Paxton Access and Corning Design.
John Acosta
John first established his ICT career in 1998 as a specialized technician and now as a project manager consistently involved in many large projects in the organization. John is a BICSI member, Certified BICSI Cable Installer and pursuing higher education and expertise through the PMP certification.
Allen Noe
Allen has been involved with the ICT industry since 1993 and began his career as a Technician with a small interconnect company. Allen’s impressive career path has also included credentials in BICSI and specializing in Extron to support our Audio Visual team. Over the last 5 years with T&R Communications, Allen has provided outstanding leadership, direction and project management specializing on the large and complex projects.
Roberto Santos
Roberto started a career in the telecommunications industry at Phillippines Long Distance Telephone Company in 1987 as a Central Office maintenance/analyst. Roberto migrated to the U.S. in 1991 and continued to develop high level skills with a startup cable contractor working for PG&E in San Francisco. He has been with T&R for 5 years and is an excellent Project Manager and Field Supervisor providing consistent leadership to his team.
Phillip Hilton
Phillip began his telecommunications career over 30 years ago and enjoyed success with his own company A.C.T.S. for 16 years during that time. Phillip’s specializes in fiber and copper structured cabling, security, low voltage systems market (i.e., intrusion detection, surveillance systems/CCTV, access control, paging and audio visual systems). Currently performing project management and estimator duties, his expertise and specialized credentials include BICSI Tech; OSHA-30; MSHA-2021; Bosch access control, intrusion, CCTV and BVMS expert certificate; DSX access control systems, standard installation and advanced applications; and Belden certified and CommScope certified. He is always looking for opportunities to grow business through his many loyal customers, excellent client care, impressive network and award-winning reputation in the industry. Phillip’s positivity and mentorship throughout the years have empowered many of his colleagues to strive for excellence so that he can pass on many years of experience to the younger talent learning the trades.
Clayton Strause
Clay has dedicated his career of 40+ years in the technology industry and brings to T&R his impressive background of excellence. Clay has specialized in the security and low voltage systems market with focus in access control, intrusion detection, surveillance systems, CCTV, paging and audio-visual systems. He is most skilled in developing projects as a successful estimator and project managing small to very complex systems with overall excellence displayed at every step of the process. Clay’s specialized experience and education reflect in the many certifications that include: RCDD; OSHA-30; MSHA-2021; Ramset certified (Powder Operated Tools); Genetec Security Center – Omnicast Technical Certification; Genetec Security Center – Synergis Technical Certification; Bosch Access Control, Intrusion, CCTV and BVMS Expert Certificate; DSX Access Control Systems, standard installation and advanced applications; Belden Certified. As a team leader, Clay is always eager to solve problems and mentor his teammates whenever possible.
Kevin Kudlik
Kevin started in the security and fire industry over 35 years ago with a small security company in the San Francisco Bay Area. As an entry level technician, Kevin learned the basics of a quality security installation. His career path led to the fire life safety business and in early 2000s Kevin became a Project Manager eventually becoming an Operations Manager. Moving back into the security business 8 years ago he has been involved with global customers and projects. Kevin joined T&R Communications in 2023 to help grow the security business at T&R Communications. He focuses on developing a solid team and is dedicated to consistently providing expertise in design/build, engineering, estimating, project management and excellent service.
Ty McKinney
Ty McKinney is a third-generation Audio Visual system integrator and has over 30 years of professional experience. He has studied electronics and communications at Foothill and Ohlone Colleges, as well as, the University of Tennessee. Early in Ty’s career he completed the four-year Sound and Communication apprenticeship program with NECA / IBEW and has achieved several of the industry’s highest levels of certification. Ty also maintains many specialized and manufacture specific credentials. With a deep-rooted passion for the Audio Visual industry Ty has served it in many capacities, notably, as an Instructor and Training Director for the Sound and Communication Apprenticeship Program.
